Sigh. No pictures from our daughter yet. Hopefully we’ll get some soon. Yes, this is my passive aggressive way of giving our daughter a guilt trip since I know she sees these posts! Ha! Last weekend was spent in Vienna with her doing homework, visiting a few art museums, and dressing up for a night on the town with her friends. Oh wait, I do have a picture or two of that, thanks to her friend Z!
Yesterday she left with 4 other students on a 3 hour train ride to Bad Mitterndorf, Austria. A winter sports resort that’s also popular for bike riders in the summer. Today they’re taking a train or bus (she never confirmed which) to Hallstatt for the day. I really hope she takes pictures from this village. According to Wikipedia its: “16th-century Alpine houses and Gothic Catholic church sit on Lake Hallstatt’s western shore. A funicular connects to Salzwelten, an ancient salt mine with a subterranean salt lake and multimedia presentations on the village’s mining history. To the west, a trail leads to the Echern Valley with its glacial potholes and Waldbachstrub Waterfall.” Tomorrow they will take another train or bus to Schladming for a 6 hour hike to a small village in the mountains. Its a former mining town that’s now popular as a ski resort.
On Sunday they plan on going to mass in town while in Bad Mitterndorf and biking around the village before going back home. Hopefully by Monday she’ll have time to upload the few pictures she’s taken so I can post them here for you all to see. But don’t hold your breath! We sent her flowers last weekend for Valentine’s Day and we still haven’t seen the photos!
Wifi at times is tricky in her apartment, so she ends up taking a train to a local cafe to get her online work done. That’s when she’s able to upload photos and text us.
Until next time,
Worried Mom and Dad
