Day Four & Five: MGM Studios, Downtown Disney, Typhoon Lagoon and the Hoop Dee Doo Revue

They changed the name 2 years ago to Hollywood Studios, but we still call it MGM Studios, and everyone knows what we mean. We started the day out by getting on the Tower of Terror ride. If you’ve never been on it, you’re basically strapped into your seat and they drop you multiples times as if you were in an elevator that has gone crazy. They’ll bring you back up to an open window where you can see the entire park for about 1 second before they drop you again. It is AWESOME! Our daughter always finds excuses to not ride it, but then gets on it and laughs afterwards and tells us that it’s the last time. This year, however, she did tell us that it really wasn’t all that bad. YAY! So maybe we’ll be able to ride it again when we go back.

We rode a few other rides before having a late lunch at the SciFi Diner. Best burgers in town, so if you’re ever in that park, reserve a spot for lunch or dinner and try it out.  We decided to head to Downtown Disney, but I think we were all so tired, that our nerves were pretty frayed. We managed to stay long enough to eat dinner and head out, so we really didn’t see much of the area. Next time we’ll try to catch a show there instead, but for now, we just won’t mention it…

The next day found us at Typhoon Lagoon, but I didn’t take the camera with me since I didn’t want it to get stolen. We could have rented lockers I suppose, but we really didn’t want to mess with that.  That evening found us having dinner over at the Wilderness Camp and catching the Hoop Dee Doo Revue show. And did they ever provide a feast! Ribs, fried chicken, smashed potatoes, baked beans, salad, strawberry shortcake, and Merlot in a jar!
